#NottinghamStar – Thank You!
Councillor Rebecca Langton, Portfolio Holder for Communities, wrote to Rachel Miller on 5 June 2020 to thank her and her team for all their support during this pandemic.
Rebecca said:
Dear Rachel,
I hope this email finds you safe and well. Our Neighbourhood Development Officers kindly passed your email on to me. I’m sure you know, this week is national Volunteers Week. We wanted to embrace this opportunity to simply say ‘Thank You’ to the people and organisations who have been helping others during this difficult time. I wanted to reach out to you personally and thank yourself and your team for your work.
Mesopotamia are among the support services who have responded to increased pressure during coronavirus. I fully appreciate how vital the services have been and know that yourself and your team have really gone the extra mile during covid-19. I know we have a long journey ahead and much work still to do, but it would be remiss to let Volunteers Week go past without thanking our community and voluntary sector colleagues and support services.
We have worked with NCVS to develop a campaign called #NottinghamStar because we firmly believe there are people and organisations who shine brightly during dark times. They help to bring light to others who may be lost in darkness. These people are Nottingham Stars and we would like to say how proud and grateful we are to each and every one of them.
So, on behalf of Nottingham City Council, I just would like to say ‘Thank You’ to you and your team. Please do share our thanks and appreciation with those who are working with you.
Yours sincerely
Rebecca
